That is a bit extreme, but the first 5 years are the time when you get used to each others habits, and develop your own way of living together. Just sit down and make a list of the things that bother you, and what you would like him to do to compromise or change. Ask him to do the same. Compare the list and see where you and he can either compromise or give in. Then you will know where each is coming from, and will be able to expect things to be that way. Beats the price and disappointment of a divorce down the road.
