PLEASE name this movie!! ?

I remember watching a fantasy movie as a kid in the mid-80s. I think it had something to do with a Snow Queen but I'm not certain. I can remember bits and pieces of it...such as one scene where a mirror is broken way up high somewhere and the broken pieces rain down as "glitter" and a piece lands in another character's eye. I recall snowy forest scenes as well but not much else! I know we rented the movie and watched it at home so I'm not sure it was ever in a theater. Does anyone have ANY idea what movie this is?? I've searched and searched but can't find anything on it!!
