Has basketball lost its concept of team to individualism?

Personally, fundamentals have been stuffed in the trunk while many are resorting to heaving ill-advised shots or dribbling as if the game is 9 on 1. Defense is not emphasized and colleges as selling their programs as a stepping stone to greatness, hence O.J Mayo. The NBA is selling Lebron, the self proclaimed "king", Kobe and the two rookies. Although I am not a Spurs fan, I am glad they won the title because they are a team. And who better two win the title against, Labron Ja..I mean the Cavs. Readers, what is your opinion to this question?
