Is music dead...................?

First thing I want to get off the bat is is that I listen to honestly all genres of music even Rap/Country. Second I listen to 2000s music too. But what happened to the days of The Beatles, Velvet Underground, The Stooges, Bob Dylan, The Who, Kinks, Rolling Stones of the 60s. The E.L.O, Ramones, Pistols, Clash, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Marvin Gaye, Television, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Brian Eno, Neil Young, etc of the 70s. In the 80s Din. Jr, Sebadoh, The The, Slint, The Church, Squeeze, They Might Be Giants, Talking Heads, Sonic Youth, etc of the 80s. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Pavement, Silver Jews, Weezer, Wilco, etc of the 90s. I mean the 2000s has a lot of great bands, but not that many I feel will be remembered lets say 10-20 years from now to the same extent of those of the past. Well please share your thoughts here, I'm really interested.
