What to make for Thanksgiving?

I am going to my boyfriends parents house for Thanksgiving. It is the FIRST real time I have spent anytime with his family. I have only met his mom and dad once prior to this and it was only for maybe an hour. His dad's side of the family is italian, and they are going to be the ones who are going to be there thanksgiving. I am also italian and I want to make something for them... i was thinking of a dessert but not sure what to make. Any ideas of what I should take?? dessert, appetizer, what!? HELP
